A year ago I wrote a list of review questions for the year gone by. At the end of the article I suggested that people write themselves a letter, to be opened one year later. I have in the past used this idea with a few clients, all of whom have found it helpful both in reviewing the year gone by, and in holding themselves accountable in the year ahead.
My challenge to you this year is the same, only this time round it comes with an invitation - if you don’t feel like putting you letter into an envelope and looking after it for a year, you are welcome to e-mail it to me, and I will send it back to you in 12 months time.
Here is a list of questions to get you thinking / writing:
FACTS about 2015
Important events in 2015 included…
Goals achieved in 2015 include…
Goals NOT achieved in 2015 were…
THOUGHTS on 2015
What should I KEEP doing, as it really worked for me in 2015?
What should I STOP doing, as it did not work for me in 2015?
What should I START doing, because it might work for me in 2016?
What uncontrollable factors (ie ones which I had little or no influence over) played a significant role in 2015?
Which of the uncontrollable factors was I lucky with (ie they helped me) and which ones was I unlucky with (ie they went against me)?
FEELINGS
How do I feel about 2015?
How am I feeling about 2016?
LOOKING AHEAD TO 2016
What am hoping to achieve this coming year?
Statistically, what are the chances of this happening?
What factors which are not under my own control will influence this?
NB: What factors which are indeed under my own control do I need to focus on, in order to give myself the best possible chance of achieving my goal(s)?
Invitation:
If you would like to, copy the above questions, and add in your answers. (They are just a guideline - do not feel restricted by them.

The subject line should read: 2016 Challenge & (the e-mail address you want it sent back to in December 2016.)
Please double-check that the address is correct! (You have my word that this address will be used for nothing other than to send your letter back to you in 12 months time).
NOTE:
- This is not a psychological intervention, just a fun service to those of you who read this blog.
- I will not be reading the e-mails - just save them and send back to you in December 2016 (after which they will be deleted from my computer).
